Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?Hope in God, for I shall yet praise HimFor the help of His countenance (v.5)
I am always amazed at David's ability to take charge over his emotions. Even when he is feeling low and cast down in his very soul, he makes a conscious, willful, intentional decision to praise God anyway, and uses it as a rallying call for his own soul, like a leader heading into battle calling after his troops to follow him to victory.
